Hey there guys! I'm CR:Red of Crap Rocket Poductions ^_^
I assume you already know what we are and what we do but incase you don't feel free to have a read of this.
Crap Rocket Productions is a cosplay group started in the North East UK on the 19th of December after meeting and keeping in contact with each other from the cosplay convention NemaCon. They began with just one member, CR:Red, who came up with the name after trying and failing to make a video with her Black Team Rocket Grunt shirt and stated "I'm a really Crap Rocket aren't I...". From that day, her brother joined the group, CR:Purple (After the previous purple was kicked out) as did three other cosplayers from Nemacon who were, in turn, named CR:Black, CR:Blue and CR:Yellow. - Taken from the CRP Wikia at www.craprocketproductions.wikia.com
So that's it in general but I'mma put the little FAQ on here just in case. This can also be found on the Questions and Answers page :)
A: Cosplay, in my opinion, is proffessional Japanese costume roleplay, considering Cosplay is derived from that. Costume Roleplay. To people who don't know that much about cosplay it is usually refered to as Dressing up to avoic confucion but I hate doing that. A Cosplay Group is a group (duh...) of cosplayers who have joined together to produce video skits or matching anime cosplays (For example a Naruto group might not produce skits but would all cosplay as characters from Naruto).
Q: Wha's the difference between Cosplay and Dressing up?
A: This is, again, my opinion. Some people's views might differ to mine but to me a sharp difference is that Dressing Up isn't taken as seriously as Cosplay. Let's say, for example, a costume of say Spider Man got perhaps a stain of orange juice on it. Someone dressing up would probably think "Oh, that'll come out in the wash". A cosplayer would, as i would, be very concerned about the costume's making and whether it would be ok in the wash, how it would affect the fabric etc. I may be biased however it do think Cosplay is taken alot more seriously than simplly dressing up. Another note, I think, is when people go to Hen parties etc dressed as pirates it is referred to as dressing up however if one were to go to a convention as a pirate it might be reffered to as a Pirates Of The Carribean Cosplay, so context plays a part too.
